Four vaccination/flu shots and many elephant tears later... (shouldn't this be designated as child cruelty?) Even the Spiderman and Daffy Duck "stickers" (i.e. band-aids) didn't help. And the poor nurse botched the first shot and bled him up because he kicked harder than either of us expected him to. (He got two bloody Loony Tunes bandaids for that one.)
To make matters worse, I have this awful habit of "goosing" my kids on the thighs when I think they're are just the cutest thing ever...and for poor Nate, that happens a lot. They're all quite immune to my torture by this age, but unfortunately I kept forgetting about his injuries. I've really got to stop...but he's just so CUTE, I can't help but pinch him! Maybe by the time he's about 13 he won't be so darn cute, (and then maybe I'll quit!)

I am glad someone else grabs their kids as a matter of habit. For me, its bums that I can't resist. It can get a little embarrassing when I am walking behind them up the stairs and they call out, "MOM! Don't bite my bum!!"
Ok, that comment above was mine. I was fixing some stuff on my in-laws account and I guess I was still logged in. Oooops!
This post just cracked me up! I remember those days! By the time child #2 came along, I made Daddy take them for shots. I got so I couldn't bear it one more time! You are an incredibly brave woman!
That's hilarious, Jan!
I'm going to make Clay go with them next time, Bonnie! Thanks for the advice!
Rosanne I always pinch my kids and I always forget not to after they have had shots. In my family we call it "coogeing" (I don't know how to spell it, but it rhymes with scrooge.) Who could resist those thighs. Maybe it wouldn't be such a problem if I didn't have such squishy children.
Oh, mean old mom snapping pictures instead of kissing little Nate better! I can't believe those alligator tears :)
I love the extra bandaids!
AUGH...pluh,pluh!
